About Adam

I have completed a Master’s degree in Mathematical Modeling, Simulation and Optimization at Munich University in Germany, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

I worked as a Mathematics Assistant at the university for more than two years, supporting students with mathematical concepts, exercises, and exam preparation.

Alongside my academic background, I have over eight years of private tutoring experience, working with students at different levels, from school mathematics to university-level math and statistics.

My approach combines strong mathematical training with an understanding of how students learn, where they struggle, and how to explain difficult ideas in a clear, structured way.

Although tutoring is something I do professionally, it is also something I genuinely enjoy.

I support students with:
Calculus, Algebra, Probability, Statistics, and Analysis, including university-level modules, A-Level Maths, GCSE Maths, and IB Mathematics.

Lessons can include:
– Explaining difficult topics from scratch
– Solving homework and problem sheets
– Preparing for exams and resits
– Improving problem-solving technique
– Reviewing past papers and exam-style questions
– Strengthening weak foundations before moving to harder material

The aim is simple: make the material clear, organised, and manageable, so the student knows exactly what they are doing and why.

I offer both regular weekly lessons and short-notice support before exams, tests, or assignment deadlines, depending on availability.

  • When did you become interested in mathematics and tutoring?

I became interested in mathematics because I enjoyed understanding how difficult problems could be broken into simple, logical steps. I started tutoring more than eight years ago and quickly realised that I enjoyed helping students gain confidence just as much as solving the mathematics itself.
  • Which subjects do you enjoy teaching most?

I teach mathematics and statistics, including algebra, calculus, analysis, probability, and exam preparation. I especially enjoy topics that initially seem difficult but become manageable once the student understands the basic idea behind them.
  • Did a teacher inspire you?

I was inspired by teachers who were patient but still expected students to think carefully. They showed me that a good teacher does not simply give answers, but helps students understand how to find the answer themselves.
  • What qualities does a good tutor need?

A good tutor must be patient, clear, reliable, and able to adapt to each student. It is also important to identify the real problem, because a student struggling with calculus may actually have gaps in algebra or basic foundations.
  • Can you share a memorable tutoring experience?

One of the most rewarding moments is when a student who previously said, “I am bad at mathematics,” begins solving problems independently. In many cases, the student was never incapable; they simply needed the material explained more clearly and in the correct order.
  • What challenges do students commonly face?

Many students lose confidence because small gaps have accumulated over several years. My challenge is to repair those foundations without making the student feel embarrassed or overwhelmed, while still preparing them for their current course or exam.
  • What are you particularly passionate about?

I am passionate about making difficult ideas clear. My background in both mathematics and psychology helps me understand not only the subject, but also how different students think, learn, and respond to pressure.
  • What makes you a Superprof?

I combine advanced mathematical knowledge with many years of practical tutoring experience. My lessons are structured, calm, and adapted to the individual student, with the aim of improving both results and genuine understanding.
