About Ben
My name is Ben, I am 17 years old and trying to save for university. I am taking maths, further maths and philosophy as my A-Levels.
For a long time I have been inspired by those involved in my education, I had some amazing teachers over the years, and since I have been trying to pass that on in my own lessons.
This past year I have been tutoring my own students- one, a GCSE student and family friend, who has significantly improved his mathematics skills since our sessions. More recently, my school has allowed me to tutor some year 12 students once per week- of which, these students have increased confidence in their ability, and the results to prove it.

Hello! My name is Ben, and I have been tutoring for the last year in both A level and GCSE courses. My lessons are tailored towards Year 9, 10 and 11 students doing their mathematics GCSE. Having achieved a 9 on the Edexcel exam board in 2021, I have a full understanding of the content you/your child will need to know for their upcoming exams.
My lessons are an hour long and will be typically structured as a range of guided questions, as well as explanations of concepts or methods where needed. My current students find it is best to attempt questions with supervision/ guidance- mathematics can be taught (and understand) in many different ways, so to gain insight on each student's reasoning is invaluable.
Outside of my sessions, I would be able to provide tests on individual topics or the exam boards as a whole for you/your child to complete in their own time. This way, areas of weakness can be highlighted, and it is then clear what must be covered in these sessions- I would also be able to mark these tests. As well as this, I can provide a pdf copy of any work we have written down throughout a session, so you can have a reference for your independent study.
