About Tomgolby
My name is Tom and I am 25 years old. I graduated the Urdang Academy in 2023 with a First Class Degree in Musical Theatre.
Since then I have travelled the world several times and whilst on these adventures, learnt that education and progression in others is something I am really passionate about. I therefore lean into that with this style of coaching. An art form I am very passionate about and believe is the foundation to a a musical theatre piece.
My coaching style is expressive, vulnerable and honest. I like to leave it all on the dance floor, if you know what I mean.
I believe my biggest selling point is my transparency and communication. These two principles create the best results and that is all I want for my clients.

About the lesson

This is for performers looking for thorough and thoughtful guidance for their current repertoire. Breaking each song down and then building it back up understanding the foundations and using various acting techniques, my favourite being Uta Hagen’s nine questions. My teaching format utilises transparency and communication as I believe these principles reveal the best results.
I specialise in Acting Through Song and audition preparation specifically. Not singing technique.
Lessons will be one hour and held online. Each session you will receive a page of notes afterwards with advice on how to move forward with this piece or preparation for our next session.
These lessons are aimed at 15 year olds and up. Individuals who are truly passionate about their craft and want honest assistance. I don’t ask for a certain level as I do believe performers can vary in level and years of experience. All I ask is for clients who are forward thinking and want to learn, if that’s the case, I guarantee we will have wonderfully progressive sessions.
