About Alistair
Hi, I’m Alistair, an A-level student predicted A*A*A*A, including A*s in Maths and Further Maths, with a grade 9 in GCSE Maths. When I started Year 10, I was predicted a grade 5, so I know exactly how it feels to struggle with Maths and feel like you’re not “a maths person.” But I also know that just because you’re not getting it now doesn’t mean you can’t go on to achieve a 9. With the right support, the right explanations, and a bit of consistency, it does start to click, and when it does, everything gets easier. I focus on building that understanding and confidence through clear, patient teaching and tailored revision strategies. Whether you're aiming to pass or aiming high, I’ll help you unlock your potential, just like I did.

I tailor every lesson to the individual needs of the student. I focus on building understanding through clear explanations, worked examples, and interactive problem-solving. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, so I always aim to create a friendly, supportive environment. Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and include a mix of topic review, exam-style practice, and tips on how to approach tricky questions with confidence. I also provide personalised revision notes and homework to reinforce learning between sessions. I’m an A-level student predicted A*A*A*A, including A*s in Maths and Further Maths, and I achieved a grade 9 in GCSE Maths. I know what it takes to succeed at GCSE and can explain methods in a way that actually makes sense to students, because I was in their shoes not long ago. My lessons are ideal for GCSE Maths students of all abilities, whether you're aiming for a pass or pushing for a top grade.
