About Morgan
I am a New York City certified teacher with a Master's degree in Special Education and years of classroom experience teaching English and Social Studies. I bring the same level of preparation, structure, and care to my tutoring sessions that I bring to my classroom every day.
I specialize in working with students who need support in reading — from foundational decoding and fluency skills to reading comprehension — as well as writing at every stage, whether that means building basic sentence skills or developing strong, organized essays. I also provide homework help and content support in ELA and Social Studies across grade levels.
My special education background means I am trained to identify how a student learns, not just what they need to learn. I work comfortably with students who have IEPs, 504 plans, dyslexia, ADHD, or other learning differences, and I know how to adjust my instruction so that every student can make real, lasting progress.

As a NYC certified teacher with a Master's degree in Special Education, I bring classroom expertise and specialized training to every tutoring session. I currently teach English and Social Studies, and I'm passionate about helping students of all learning profiles build confidence and skills that last.
I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each session to the individual. Drawing on my special education background, I use multi-sensory strategies, scaffolded instruction, and differentiated techniques to meet students where they are — whether they're working ahead, catching up, or navigating a learning difference.
Sessions usually begin with a quick check-in to identify what's most pressing — an upcoming assignment, a concept that didn't click in class, or a skill we've been working on together. From there, we move through the material at the student's pace, with me modeling strategies first and then guiding the student through practice. I close each session with a brief recap and a clear plan for what to focus on before we meet again.
My lessons are for:
• Basic & foundational reading skills (decoding, fluency, comprehension)
• Writing support — from sentence structure and paragraph organization to essays and research papers
• English Language Arts (ELA) coursework at the elementary, middle, and high school level
• Social Studies content, including geography, history, civics, and document analysis
• Homework help and test/exam preparation
• IEP goal support and accommodations-aligned instruction
