About Amanda
Hi! I’m Amanda, a third-semester nursing student at Grand Canyon University. I have experience tutoring from when I was in high school and really enjoyed helping classmates work through material that felt confusing at first. I graduated high school with a 4.4 GPA and have always valued understanding concepts instead of just memorizing them. My teaching style focuses on thinking through the “why” behind things so students can apply what they learn more confidently. I’m pretty easygoing and enjoy chatting, so I try to keep tutoring sessions comfortable and low-stress.

My lessons are focused on helping students truly understand the material instead of just memorizing steps. I usually start by figuring out what the student already knows and where things begin to feel confusing. From there we work through problems together step by step using clear explanations, visuals, and practice questions. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and taking their time learning so they can build confidence and improve their problem solving skills.
