About Ana-Lisa
Welcome! I'm Ana-Lisa — a passionate educator with over 10 years of experience helping children learn and grow with confidence. As a former classroom teacher turned private tutor, I specialize in working with elementary-aged students (K–6), including early readers, gifted learners, and children who benefit from a creative, hands-on approach. My teaching style is calm, engaging, and encouraging. I believe that every child learns best when they feel safe, seen, and supported. I tailor each session to your child’s unique learning style, using a blend of visual tools, manipulatives, storytelling, and strategy-based instruction. I use a student-centered, strengths-based approach — focusing on what each learner already knows and building from there. I break down concepts into manageable steps, use real-life examples, and incorporate visual aids, games, manipulatives, and movement to make lessons stick. I also use gentle redirection and positive reinforcement to keep students motivated.
When working with early writers and readers, I often combine phonics, handwriting practice, and storytelling to build both skill and self-expression. For math, I lean into visual learning, skip counting songs, and strategy-based problem-solving.
