About Dong Hop
I graduated from the University of Wollongong, Australia. I taught Media subjects at the university as a tutor. I also want more people around the world to know about Vietnam, the language we speak, and our cultures. As someone who learned English as a second language and Mandarin as a third language, I understand the challenges when you don't have the "sounds" of that language. It's gonna take time, so let's do it step by step together. My goal is that you can surprise the waiter at a Vietnamese restaurant after 2 lessons!

Firstly, we'll make sure your pronunciation is right!
Vietnamese is a tonal language, and the idea of starting out could be a bit daunting. I want to make sure your tones, vowels and consonants are on point, because what's the point of knowing lots of vocabulary when no one understands you?
Depending on your goals when learning Vietnamese, we will then focus on conversational, practical Vietnamese speaking & writing.
More than that, as someone who lived in Australia for 10 years, I understand the cultural differences between East and West, and therefore will be able to share with you why an expression is said this way, but not that way!
