About Katia
I was born and lived in Chile for six years , then grew up in Croatia where I started learning Croatian and English at school.While attending school I received formal violin lessons at a School of Music in Split .Back in Chile in 1990 I earned my Master's Degree in Music after attending the Faculty of Arts at the University of Chile.I enjoy studying foreign languages and that's why I also studied Latin , Italian , French, German and Bahasa Indonesian.I have always had a pasión for languages and I'm always trying to learn more,both by studyng and by travel.Currently I live in Sydney.

My teaching method is at its beginning mostly done in Spanish and it is focused on the development of oral skills.At the very beginning I teach vocabulary and concepts through pantomiming , real- life objects and other visual materials .Spoken Spanish lessons focusing on question-answer patterns and including a native-like pronunciation.Using a variety of learning resources is significantly more effective and that's why I also use a syllabus textbook and then gradually introduce other specific reading and grammar materials.I may also introduce videos ,images , varied questioning and testing resources .
