About Abdul Tunde

While my master's degree is not related to teaching, I offer something often more valuable: real-world experience, proven results, and a genuine passion for sharing my language and culture. I’ve been informally teaching Spanish for years, helping learners of different levels improve their understanding, pronunciation, vocabulary, and fluency. I also consistently excelled in Spanish Language and Literature throughout high school and the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, always achieving top marks. This means I can help you not only speak like a native but also write and understand the language with precision, depth, and style.

  • 1) Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

I speak Spanish fluently because it is part of my origins. Although I was born in Nigeria, I was mainly raised in Spain, surrounded by the rhythm, warmth, and energy of its language. Spanish was never something I learned from a book — it was the soundtrack of my childhood, the voice of my family, and the melody of everyday life around me.
  • 2) Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

Without a doubt, Don Quijote de la Mancha represents the Spanish spirit. His idealism, courage, and stubborn belief in dreams reflect how deeply emotion and imagination run in Spanish culture. He reminds us that passion, even when misunderstood, is a strength — a lesson I carry into my teaching.
  • 3) Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?

My favorite expression is “¡No pasa nada!” — three words that reveal an entire philosophy. It means “It’s okay” or “Don’t worry,” but in Spain, it’s a way of saying life goes on. It reflects a lightness, a joy, and a resilience that I think are at the heart of the Spanish way of living.
  • 4) Why does speaking this language matter to you?

Spanish is my voice — it carries my memories, my humor, my identity. But beyond that, it’s a bridge between cultures. I’ve seen how learning Spanish opens hearts and minds. It connects people who might never have met otherwise, and that sense of connection is why teaching it matters so deeply to me.
  • 5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

Many learners find verbs and tenses the trickiest part — all those conjugations can seem endless at first! But the secret is to immerse yourself: listen to songs, speak early, make mistakes, and laugh at them. Spanish rewards those who are curious and bold enough to use it before they feel “ready.”
  • 6) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

During school, Lengua Castellana y Literatura was always my strongest subject. My teachers used to say my essays had the “soul of a storyteller.” That love for expression never left me — it taught me that Spanish is not just a language, but an art form. Now, I try to help my students discover that same magic in their own way.
  • 7) How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

Growing up in Spain, even short trips felt like journeys through different worlds — the poetic Andalusian south, which is where I'm from, the fiery rhythm of Madrid, the proud Catalan coast. Each region added new colours to my Spanish. It taught me that language lives differently in every place, and that to understand it fully, you must feel it as much as study it.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof in language?

What makes me a Superprof is the human connection I create through Spanish. I teach not just grammar or vocabulary, but the culture, emotion, and rhythm that make Spanish alive. I bring patience, authenticity, and enthusiasm — because I believe language learning should feel like discovery, not homework.
