About Filipa

I am a Portuguese native speaker, although I also grew up speaking English, so I am capable of understanding and clarifying any questions you may have. Learning languages has always been a passion of mine, and I am still learning new ones! So I understand all the intricacies and difficulties of learning a language whose grammar (and even alphabet!) is completely different from your own. I believe this improves my capabilities as a teacher, for a good teacher must be able to understand the students' struggles.
I have been teaching Portuguese for 4 years, and I've been a translator (trained in Portuguese language and linguistics) for 5+ years.

I adapt and personalize all of my lessons according to each individual's needs and preferred learning methods. I'm a firm believer of interactive classes as the best way to become fluent in a language, but the student is always free to give feedback and change the plans according to how they feel.
Whether you want to learn Portuguese just for fun, or you need extra tutoring to support a class you're taking, I guarantee I can be the helping hand you need.
