About Amelia

I am a native Mandarin speaker with a strong foundation in Chinese language and culture. I am currently a high school student and will be attending San José State University as a freshman. I am responsible, patient, and detail-oriented, and I take a structured but flexible approach to teaching. I focus on helping students build confidence in speaking Mandarin through clear explanations, consistent practice, and real-life examples. I am committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable making progress at their own pace while steadily improving their pronunciation, vocabulary, and communication skills.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is practical and student-focused, with an emphasis on helping learners speak Mandarin naturally and confidently. I use simple techniques like guided conversation, repetition for pronunciation, and real-life situations to make the language easy to understand and use. A typical lesson includes a short review, introduction of new vocabulary or grammar, speaking and listening practice, and a quick recap with corrections and feedback. What sets me apart is that I’m a native Mandarin speaker with a strong understanding of Chinese culture, so I can explain not just the language but also how it is actually used in daily life. The lessons are for beginners to intermediate learners, including students or adults who want to improve speaking, pronunciation, or everyday communication skills
