About Hirona
Hi! I’m Hirona, a native Japanese speaker born and raised in Japan. I’ve lived in Malaysia, the US, and now the UK, which has given me a deep appreciation for different cultures and how language connects us. My own experience learning English taught me how challenging (and rewarding!) learning a new language can be and that’s what inspired me to start teaching. As a tutor, I bring empathy, encouragement, and a flexible approach to every lesson. I tailor my teaching to each student’s goals, whether you’re learning Japanese for travel, anime, everyday conversation, or exams like the JLPT. I focus on practical Japanese that you can really use, and I always include cultural context to make learning more engaging and meaningful. Outside of teaching, I love cooking, going to the gym, travelling, and spending time with my two dogs. I’m also a huge Animal Crossing fan and enjoy watching anime like One Piece and Naruto. I’m friendly, professional, and genuinely passionate about helping my students grow in both confidence and fluency.
