About Sarah
When planning my lessons, I focus on the students' needs and goals, but also on the students' preferences. I believe that teaching different aspects of the French culture and other French-speaking countries is extremely important to overcome misconceptions that may arise due to a language-based learning experience.
My final goal is to help you reach YOUR goal, whether it is to simply learn the language or because you need it for school or for (paper)work. I prioritize authentic documents that you will encounter in real life such as articles from newspapers or magazines, videos (trailers, news, interviews...), songs, pictures etc. depending on your preferences and I always make sure to identify from the first class what we would need to focus on the most : written skills, oral skills, written comprehension or oral comprehension.

Bonjour!
My name is Sarah, I’m French and I'm from Versailles, just a few minutes away from Paris. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in English Studies as well as a Master's Degree in Foreign Language Education from the Sorbonne University.
I have experience teaching both French and English; I have been teaching both general and business English and both general and business French since 2015. I have taught all ages from 8 to 60 years old, and all levels from beginner to advanced. I have also taught in a wide variety of places such as an international high school in Paris; CUPA which is an American study abroad centre for Ivy League school students in Paris; the French Immigration Office (OFII); and the European Business School in Paris. After relocating to Manchester, I worked at two high schools as a MFL (French and Spanish) and English tutor, and at a High School and Sixth Form as a French Language Assistant where I was preparing pupils for the GCSE and the A-Level exams.
I have also prepared students for the TCF, DELF, DALF, BULATS and Bright Exams for several years now, for studies/work and paperwork in France (visa renewal, resident card, citizenship etc.), and I have worked as a translator and interpreter from and to English and French.
