About Valentina
I am American and daughter of Colombian parents. I grew up and studied in Florida. I have been working as a TEFL/TESOL teacher for more than two years with students from Spain, China and Korea. In my free time I enjoy walking, spending time with my family, watching a movie, and cooking. What I like most about teaching are my students. I love interacting with them, I love learning from them, I love helping them understand the content of any course, and I love when they see the connection between what they are learning and their lives. It has allowed me to create strong bonds with my students and provide valuable insights that will help them speak English more fluently.

My methodology for children is focused on the use of TPR, a method to teach a language or vocabulary concepts using corporal expressions since it is based on the way children learn their first language and reduces stress. Much of my classes focus on the importance of grammar, reading, and conversational skills, as this builds oral and writing skills. I like to create a creative, safe and fun environment where children and adults feel comfortable and confident to advance in English. My classes are individualized to the needs of each student.
