About Kira
I am a native English speaker from the United States who has a passion for language learning! I lived in Spain for two years, where I worked hard to achieve a higher level of Spanish, so I understand the challenges and joys that come with learning a new language. In Spain, I worked as an English teacher at an elementary school, and in my free time I tutored students of all ages in English.
Outside of teaching, I am passionate about making ceramics, travel, books, nature, and cooking! I love to learn about people from all around the world, and I always work to make people feel comfortable and heard.

My goal is to help make each student feel supported and comfortable in taking risks and making mistakes. That's what language learning is all about! I teach using many different approaches, including games, role play exercises, written text, and even working from a textbook that you already have at home. I tailor each lesson to the level of my student.
I offer conversation lessons to those with a higher level of English who want to practice their speaking skills.
I also offer grammar and vocabulary classes to those who would like guided practice with those skills.
My 2 years teaching English to Spanish speaking, elementary school students, as well as my experience tutoring middle school, high school, and adult students has provided me with the skills needed to be a compassionate, patient, and motivating teacher. I can't wait to help you reach your language learning goals this year!
