About Rachel
I am genuinely passionate about teaching and I have a wonderful rapport with the children and adults that I work with. I am committed to fostering a love of learning in my students and ensuring their academic and personal growth.
I really care about the individual and do all I can to ensure they make progress and enjoy learning. I am a lovely person who always works to develop myself as a practitioner. In addition to my qualifications and experience, I am a flexible hardworking, open-minded individual and a firm believer in respecting others, regardless of age, race, gender, or any other differences.

My experience includes working with children whose English is their 2nd or third language. I use colourful semantics as a way of helping children build their vocabulary as well as phonics to help them learn to read. In addition, I help them learn mathematics using conceptual understanding like visual, schema approach and understanding of the mathematical vocabulary.
Because of my background as a mother, I’m very aware of the stresses both parents and children face regarding learning. My objective as a tutor is to assist by helping children learn and make it a rewarding and enjoyable experience as much as possible. I try to look for the gaps in the child’s understanding and use different approaches.
