About Paige

I am currently a University of California student at Riversides campus with ambitions of going into a law oriented career. Growing up, I had a learning disability related to adolescent epilepsy (which I have now grown out of) that affected the way information was processed into my long term memory. If given the opportunity to work with your student, please know that I myself have struggled with learning and have needed tutoring. This is why I value positivity, adaptability, and empathy in how I tutor...because EVERY student and every mind is different and should be treated as such. I have experience in private tutoring in english, math, and science and have found great fulfillment in watching my students grow :) I am so excited for the opportunity to tutor again and I hope to connect with you soon!

About the lesson

This is dependent on what the student would like to focus on and their areas of need. In a typical academic essay circumstance, the writing process is tremendously important. I may schedule 1/2 the session for accumulating evidence and outlining, and the second 1/2 possibly alloted to filling out that outline. If a student needs help refining ideas, we can go through that with a fine tooth comb. I am always available to help them convey their analysis, ideas, and sentence structures more coherently and cohesively. I think it is important to acknowledge that every student is different with various needs and educational levels, therefore it is my job as a tutor to understand every lesson needs to be catered to the student. I do ask for communication 24 hours in advance for what they would like to work on so I can create a lesson plan that benefits the student as much as possible. In terms of age groups I would prefer 6th graders - 12th graders as the type of writing I specialize in is highly academic. However, if you have a student younger than this and you feel I am a good fit I would be happy to tutor them as well:)
