About Edie
I'm Edie, a professional illustrator and art tutor based in Glasgow. I hold an MA in Illustration from the Glasgow School of Art, a BA (Hons) in Illustration and Animation from Manchester Metropolitan University, and an Extended Diploma in Art & Design from Leeds College of Art. My own practice is hand-drawn and craft-led, spanning editorial illustration, children's book work, and pattern design. Having been through the art school application process myself multiple times. I bring both real industry experience and first-hand insight to every lesson. I love passing on skills to others, and I bring patience and encouragement to every student I teach.

Art can feel intimidating to learn on your own — especially if you're trying to build a portfolio for art school or just don't know where to start. I've been exactly where you are, having gone through many art school applications myself. I know what admissions tutors are actually looking for, and I know how to help you get there.
I bring real, working-illustrator experience into every lesson — not just theory. My own practice spans editorial illustration, children's book work, and pattern design, so I can show you techniques that are actually used in the industry, not just textbook exercises.
Every lesson is built around you. Whether you're a nervous beginner who's never picked up a sketchbook, a student trying to survive GCSE/A-Level coursework, or preparing a portfolio for art school interviews, I'll tailor the pace, content and feedback to your specific goals — no generic, one-size-fits-all curriculum.
I'm patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in seeing you improve. Art is as much about building confidence as it is about technical skill, and I focus on both. You'll leave every lesson with practical skills, honest feedback, and a clearer sense of your own style.
