About Richard
Overall, I have found teaching and tutoring over a 45-year period to be worthwhile and productive, in 4 different countries. Having worked very extensively in teaching and translating over many years, and now retired, I would like to continue doing a little tutoring, partly as a means to staying involved in that and applying my skills, partly to earn a little extra money.

I will focus on 1 to 1 tutoring for children typically between the ages of 9 and 16, at the customer's house, at my home, or in another chosen location. The sessions focus on meeting the pupil in the subject where he or she is, enabling the pupil to progress significantly more quickly than in a classroom setting. Tutoring sessions will typically last an hour, though possibly longer. I have approximately 12 years' experience in teaching and tutoring English, and approximately 4 years' experience of tutoring maths and French. Over recent years, I have focused on tutoring primary and secondary levels, including GCSE and 11-plus. I have a degree in combined sciences, a Master's degree in applied linguistics, and a postgraduate certificate in French from Sorbonne University. Copies of these can be provided.
