About Katia
I have led calculus seminars for first year undergraduate students and have also tutored students in a range of math areas, from high school math and science to undergraduate calculus, linear algebra, probability, and statistics. I have been tutoring individuals for 5 years, with 2 years of seminar teaching.
My students have thanked me for helping them pass assignments, tests, and courses with grades that went from 50% to 80%+ with my help.

I am a masters student at the University of Exeter. I received my BSc. in math from Trent University and also received a minor in chemistry. I primarily tutor high school and undergraduate mathematics, but I also have experience tutoring high school science and French.
As a tutor, I strive to not only help my students pass and excel at the subject they're learning, but also develop a love for learning. I also want my students to know that they can succeed.
My tutoring philosophy is to learn for learning's sake. My lessons are usually student oriented, where we work on mastering material that's difficult for the student. I explain the material and we do example problems so that these things are more understandable, and this helps my students develop the skills to walk through and solve problems on their own.
