About Paul
I have recently graduated from my Masters in renewable energy engineering on the Cornwall campus of Exeter University, this is my second degree after Mechanical Engineering undergrad in Exeter's Streatham campus. I am building a start-up company manufacturing robots for wind turbine 3D printing and 'deployable solar panels. I'm a keen rugby fan playing for Harlequins academy until 18 and I continued to play through University and since, I coach age group rugby masterclass sessions at my local club.

With my lessons I like an initial fact-finding approach of the student's Situation, Problems, Implications, Needs (e.g.: what grade are they achieving, what are they struggling with, what does this mean for them and what do they need to get the result they want). I then give a breakdown of the problem areas explaining key concepts in blocks and applying these manageable chunks into the larger questions. This provides memorable 'templates' on how to approach a problem. From here we can either go over coursework/homework/class questions they have been set - I appreciate seeing these ahead of time. Otherwise, I set my own example questions sourced from similar examples on their exam board's website. Completing the first question with plenty of hands-on help setting up which template approach should be used then reduce my involvement until they can complete questions with only encouragement. My lesson length is flexible to the student from 45 minutes - 3 hours but are ideally 1 hour 30 minutes per subject and are suitable for secondary school and college students.
