About Joe
Since I began tutoring, I have taught more than 6000 hours and helped hundreds of students achieve their goals. I began while studying English Literature at the University of York and continued while studying my Masters in Irish literature at Trinity College, Dublin.
Away from teaching, I am the lead analyst at poemanalysis.com, the co-host of the popular poetry analysis podcast, Beyond the Verse, and a sports journalist.

I believe pupils engage best with literature when they feel their ideas are valued. It is an expressive subject and I always encourage my pupils to explore the contextual influences that shaped the creation of texts as well as the texts themselves. Of course, I also offer extensive expertise in close reading which allows my pupils to flourish in exam conditions.
