About Jacob
I recently graduated from the University of Birmingham, achieving a 2.1 in Modern Languages - French, Spanish, German.
In August 2017 I undertook a Spanish language course as part of my degree in which I received 9.5/10 at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
I have worked as an au pair in Spain where I taught English to three Spanish children aged 8-15. I have also worked a translator and language assistant at the University of Worcester for a large group of children aged 10-18.

Having spent the last twelve years learning languages (Spanish, French and German) - both in England and abroad - I have explored many different approaches to language learning. Therefore, I have picked up many different methods for learning and teaching all four components of language learning - reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Naturally, a pupil's level dictates exactly what kind of teaching approach to take. Fortunately, I have taught students aged 8-18, all of whom had varying levels of competency, and so I can adapt to my student's/students' needs.
As a general guideline, I try to identify a pupil's weaker areas in a given language and work to improve said areas. However, I am definitely open to adapting my teaching methods if a situation presents such a need.
