About SOPHIE
I am currently working in policy and advocacy for an NGO working on refugee rights. My background is in Anthropology and Politics of the Middle East, and my BA degree was in Religious Studies. I studied both my BA and MA at SOAS, University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies. I am an experienced tutor and I teach humanities, religious studies, Middle Eastern Studies and politics. I am also an experienced ESOL tutor and teach English to groups of young refugees in London.

I tailor my teaching methods to my students; I have worked with children and young people as well as young refugees (teaching English,) and I like to make my lessons interactive and engaging. Each session, we will explore a new topic, with time for revision and debate/discussion. I am experienced in working with academics and university students; for students who need additional support in their politics/Middle Eastern Studies classes and work, I can offer 1-1 tuition sessions where we will explore and discuss relevant readings.
