About Lily
I have a degree in K-8 education, specializing in science. I currently teach 8th grade science. I have taught 7th grade, 4th grade, and kindergarten as well.
Since being hired as a certified educator, I have taught life science (human anatomy, ecosystems, cells), earth science (geological timescale, natural disasters), chemistry (atomic structure, chemical reactions, periodic table), and some other areas of physics (motion, force, energy).
I love to learn about science, even outside of work. I listen to "The Science of Everything" podcast...which I totally recommend! I also enjoy reading science-based books and magazines.

I like to begin lessons or units by gauging what my students know. I typically do this by asking questions or giving a short survey/pre-assessment.
What occurs during the actually tutoring or teaching will depend on what my student already knows. I like to teach using multiple mediums, such as video, drawing, reading and writing, games, hands-on activities, etc. Engagement is key!
