About Lawrence
I am currently a Certified Grade 8 math teacher in the Boston Area. I have taught in grades 3,6,8, and 10. Most of my experience is in Middle School Math to Algebra 2. As a math enthusiast I also coach our Middle School Math team and enjoy extending or challenging a student. I have a B.S. in Education with a Math focus and an M. Ed in curriculum and instruction.

I like to see what the student knows and fill in any gaps of understanding and develop their confidence that they can learn how to do this "stuff". When I meet a student for the first time I like to see what their interests are and find ways to integrate that into the lesson. Once they are able to make the connection I am able to have them see how math works in their life and is not just a set of rules to memorize. I receive great enjoyment when the students make the connection and feel proud of their efforts. I am looking for students in grade 3 to 10 either building up confidence or keeping their skills sharp during the summer months.
