About Lian
Lian is a caring and experienced tutor of six years who has various experiences of working with children between the ages of 3 and 18. Working in a Maths and English tuition centre for 4 years, she has gained excellent communication and organisational skills. This role involved tutoring per hour, groups of 6 children of mixed abilities including some with ADHD and autism. Lian has a strong passion for helping young people to grow and become fearless learners. She started up her private tutoring business in 2016 and tutors 1 to 1 in Maths, English, Science and Eleven Plus. Her approach to teaching is creative, enthusiastic and adaptable. She is known for her tailored tutorials – creating worksheets and quizzes to meet the needs of her students. This has helped them to attain high grades in their exams. All of this Lian has achieved alongside her studies and has graduated in July 2018 with an Upper Second Class Honours Biomedical Science degree from King's College London. In her spare time Lian enjoys volunteering her time to a medical association society at her university where she helps young people with their university applications (UCAT, personal statement) and organises mock interviews. She also enjoys music, playing the piano and the french language. Lian will be beginning medical school in September.
