About Whitney
I am a first year medical student that graduated from Vanderbilt University last May with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. In addition to the STEM courses I took to fulfill my degree, I also took a few courses on teaching and learning, which sparked my love for finding new and innovative ways to teach others!

I like to find teaching methods that fit each student by creating analogies for topics that fit their personal interests. Additionally it is my belief that learning should be fun, so I try to make little games and activities when possible. A typical lesson plan includes assessing where the student currently stands and addressing goals for the session at the beginning of each session and allowing the student to take the lead on what they want to learn more about, while still directing them towards reaching their learning goals. I am able to work with all ages from elementary through college but generally I work to support students in course or programs for which they are already apart of.
