About Ian
Hi Everyone! My name is Ian Gorsen, and I am currently a college freshman in a 7yr medical program through TCNJ and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. I got above a 1500 on my SAT, and 5's on the Calc AB, Calc BC, psychology, and chemistry AP exams. I have also received over 770 on both my SAT chemistry and Math 2 exams. I have been tutoring for three years and have room for a few more clients. I tutor in many subjects and welcome a wide array of students, including those with IEP's and 504 plans.

I teach by first evaluating where the student is at and adapting to their learning style. My first few sessions, I spend each class on a specific topic of the test the student may not feel comfortable with. Towards the end of our tutoring, we go over practice tests in order for them to get to used to bringing all their skills together and getting used to the timing. I am an active teacher and do not just lecture. Since my sessions over zoom, I have the student annotate and actively think the problems as I guide them. I believe in assigning my students work and keeping up with them in between sessions.

I know Ian from my brother, who was on the same high school wrestling team as him. My Mom looked around for math tutors when I was struggling with Calculus this year because learning from online school is difficult. Ian contacted her and offered to tutor me. He helped me by explaining and showing me the steps on how to do Calculus. I would not have received a good grade in that class if it was not for him.
Made me feel confident in math and just helped me realize how good I could do on the SAT. All the lessons really helped.
