About Safia
Hi! I’m Safia and I am a medical student in the UK with a strong interest in helping students build both confidence and independence in their learning.
Alongside my academic teaching experience, I have experience working with young people in a holistic setting, as well as mentoring and supporting students academically. These experiences have taught me the importance of adapting to each individual student and whether they need clearer explanations, more confidence, additional challenge, or simply a more organised approach to their studies.
I also have an international background and have studied and lived across different environments, giving me experience of working with students from a range of cultural and educational backgrounds. I understand that every student has a different relationship with school and learning, so I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing at their own pace.
My own approach to studying medicine is very goal-oriented and based around active recall, application and learning from mistakes. I bring these same principles into my tutoring, with the aim of helping students become more confident and independent learners.

I offer online tuition in Science, Maths and GCSE Psychology, with lessons adapted to the student’s age, level and individual goals.
For younger students, lessons can focus on building strong foundations, developing curiosity and making challenging concepts easier to understand through explanation, discussion and practical application.
For GCSE students, I take a more structured, exam-focused approach. Where relevant, I work directly from the student’s exam-board specification to create a clear roadmap of the course, identify strengths and gaps, and systematically work through the content from beginning to end.
Every lesson has a clear goal, rather than simply covering whatever happens to come up that week. Lessons typically combine focused teaching with active recall, guided practice and exam-style questions. I place particular emphasis on application and helping students understand how to approach unfamiliar questions rather than simply memorising information.
I also use regular retrieval practice, targeted homework and a mistake-tracking system to make sure students revisit topics and learn from their errors. For GCSE students, this can include past-paper and topic-specific questions tailored to their exam board.
My aim is for students to finish every lesson knowing what they have achieved, what they need to work on next, and how that fits into their wider learning or exam goals.
