About Maya
I'm a medical student at the University of York, and am currently offering Chemistry and Biology tutoring at GCSE and A Level standard! At the moment, I am offering online tutoring only; I find it is quite effective as it means that I can see students by video links, write on an online whiteboard, and send any relevant articles or videos in real time - have a look at the mock online classroom on the website for any further clarification! I have had experience tutoring in both subjects and English Literature before, and have also taught classes on theology and philosophy. I have also had the opportunity to work with children and teens of all ages, from a youth group for 9-14 year olds, to A Level students. Feel free to get in touch with me for more details!

I find that the only way to do well in the sciences is to truly understand (rather than just memorise!) every concept. So, my lessons are geared around understanding the logical pathways leading to every conclusion. I will be promoting long term memory by bringing back topics we cover and making sure they stick, and recommending other resources to help you along the way!
