I'm Faris, a recent year 13 graduate with a strong passion for Maths and Physics tutoring. I have six 9s and six 8s in GCSE, 4 As in AS and 4 A*s predicted in A Level. Having completed my A-levels in these subjects, I'm excited to share my knowledge and ignite the same enthusiasm in my students. I thrive on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment tailored to individual needs, where I provide clear explanations, ample practice, and practical applications. With a patient and encouraging approach, I'm committed to helping students overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals. In my tutoring approach, I focus on achieving a few key objectives. Firstly, I prioritize laying a strong foundation in the specific topic before progressing further. It is crucial to ensure that the basics are well-established, as they serve as the building blocks for successful comprehension and application. Once the groundwork is solid, we can move on to tackling more challenging questions, which reinforces understanding and enhances problem-solving skills.
Additionally, I specialize in teaching calculator tricks, particularly valuable for calculator-based exams. These tricks can significantly streamline the problem-solving process, bypassing unnecessary steps and increasing efficiency. These can also be used to verify your answers whilst you are in the exam! Furthermore, I have personal tips and tricks that I have developed throughout my education, which I am happy to share. However, it is important to note that I introduce these techniques only once a strong understanding of the subject matter has been achieved. Mastery of the basics is essential before incorporating these slightly more advanced tricks.
I tutor secondary school pupils (11-16) once a week for 1 hour as a standard, but more sessions can be arranged. I'm very flexible with timings and focus on what YOU want.
