About Alihan
My name is Alihan
It might not look it, but I have sailed halfway around the world, danced salsa at a national level, and given a speech at Westminster Abbey.
But to be able to tell these stories, I first had to learn and be a student to so many different teachers I look up to and aspire to be.
All the experiences I have had have only come about through learning. While I might not be teaching you how to sail, the foundational skills I will be teaching will aim for you to not only master the content but 'learn how to learn.' This will hopefully allow you to find your own incredible experiences.
I will be teaching Maths and Physics at a range of levels, as well as mentoring any students looking for answers to questions about A-levels and university.
My grades at GCSE were eight 9s and three 8s, while my grades at A-levels were A*AA. And I study Mechanical and Electrical Engineering achieving 2 Firsts (the highest grade at university you can achieve). These grades are a testament to my hard work and dedication, but more importantly, they are not perfect.
Through these, I have learned from disappointment which skills I lacked in the past and the silly mistakes that can cause you to drop marks.
This is a more valuable tool than being perfect, because the mistakes I made are the same ones that many students make and get most annoyed by. So let me share my experience and knowledge, and together we can work to achieve the grades you are aiming for.

For those of you new to the subjects I will start with teaching the topics like the tutors I looked up to. Going through the content required for the exams and key understanding but also the knowledge which builds a bigger picture, allowing to appreciate the world of physics.
For those of you who already know this knowledge or wish to focus on exam prep, we will do exactly that, prep for your exams. Past papers are the best way to do so, that is where we will start. Aiming to go through all available content on practice questions.
These are targeted at OCR A-levels but also can be any level below.
I'm also open to mechanical and electrical engineering topics at university.
