About Tia
Hi! I’m Tia, a Life Sciences student at McMaster who genuinely enjoys helping others understand school. I’ve always been someone who puts a lot of focus into academics, so I know how frustrating it can feel when something just isn’t clicking. That’s where I come in. I explain things in a simple, clear way that actually makes sense, and I always make sure you feel comfortable asking questions. No pressure, no judgment, just real support.
If you’re stuck, confused, or just want to build more confidence, we’ll work through it together step by step.

Who is this most Accurate for?

Summer Tutoring:
- Since school does not run during the months of July and August, this is when students can expand their learning and prepare for the upcoming grade.
- First 2 weeks of summer: Review of the entire curriculum from the previous grade and focusing on excelling in areas where improvement is needed.
- Remainder of the summer: Preparation for the upcoming grade. I prepare specific lesson plans according to the student’s needs to help them succeed in the upcoming grade. I will introduce and help them build a foundation of what is expected of them in the coming academic year.
- Specific Methods and lesson plans will be designed to help each student according to their needs.
School Year Tutoring:
- This is when students may need the most help, as teachers may cover difficult topics too quickly or may not always explain them in enough detail.
- Throughout the week: Review what the student is learning in class, work through difficult worksheets together, assign practice in areas where they excel, and finish with checking homework and a mini test to assess their understanding of the unit.
- Specific Methods and lesson plans will be designed to help each student according to their needs.
