About Joey
I have been programming for my own pleasure for nearly 20 years, first teaching myself some bespoke game scripting languages and then C at around the age of 14, before exploring web development with HTML/CSS, PHP, and SQL for a number of years.
I discovered a passion for learning new languages with the advent of the Go language, and have developed a strong foundation in a variety of programming languages since.
Through self-directed learning, I have gained proficiency in languages such as C, PHP, Python, Go, Java, C#, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and several game modding/scripting languages.
As a mature student, I enrolled in a BSc. Computing Science program at the University of East Anglia, where I am currently pursuing my degree. My goal is to continue towards a master's degree, further honing my skills in the field I love so much.
Passionate about open source, I actively engage with the FOSS community wherever possible, which has fostered a deep appreciation for collaborative development. I am proficient in Git version control and prefer working in the Linux terminal, and I can offer additional guidance and advice in these areas if desired.
With a wealth of experience and a commitment to continuous growth, I am excited to share my knowledge and support you in your own programming journey!
