About Ivy
My journey into teaching mathematics began with a love for logical thinking and the satisfaction of solving structured challenges. I earned a B.Ed in Mathematics Education, where I studied both mathematical theory and effective teaching practice. Over 11 years of experience, I have helped students move from frustration into clarity through supportive instruction.
I believe every learner can succeed in math when explanations match their pace. My teaching style focuses on breaking concepts into manageable steps, using examples, visual reasoning, and consistent practice. I enjoy working with students who feel anxious about math, helping them rebuild confidence.
Outside tutoring, I remain engaged with mathematics through continual study and interest in applied problem solving. Teaching math is meaningful because students often experience real transformation. Supporting learners as they grow into confident thinkers motivates my work deeply.

Maths becomes far less intimidating when students understand that every problem follows a clear structure and logic. In my lessons, I guide learners through algebra, geometry, functions, trigonometry, and exam-focused problem solving with calm explanation. I focus on building conceptual understanding so students can approach questions confidently instead of relying on guesswork.
Lessons are tailored to each level. Beginners strengthen arithmetic fluency, equation basics, and foundational reasoning skills. Intermediate learners develop stronger algebraic manipulation, graph interpretation, and multi-step solution strategies. Advanced students refine higher-level applications, proofs, calculus foundations, and exam technique. Each session includes practice questions and supportive correction.
Maths lessons help students build patience, confidence, and resilience. Many learners discover that maths is not about speed, but about understanding patterns and reasoning clearly. My goal is to create a supportive learning space where students feel capable, motivated, and proud of their progress.
