About Wilf
Hi! I’m a Mathematics student at Durham University, and I’ve been tutoring for two years, helping students build confidence and improve their grades in maths and science. I have achieved A*AAA in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry A-Levels as well as 9 A* equivalent grades in GCSEs. As well as having an enhanced DBS check. So, why choose me? As someone with dyslexia, I know firsthand how tricky maths and science can feel at times. Over the years, I’ve developed strategies that make learning more approachable—breaking down tough concepts into simple steps and adapting to different learning styles. I particularly enjoy helping dyslexic students and those who find maths challenging discover methods that actually work for them.

My Approach to Tutoring My main goal is to help students get the best grades they can. I do this by focusing on two key areas: understanding how UK exams are structured (so we can spot patterns and maximise marks) and developing analytical thinking skills to tackle problems and puzzles more effectively. I also believe independent learning is really important. I can offer advice on how to approach revision and exam season, sharing useful strategies and materials to make studying easier.
