Hello to the Maths learners,
I start by breaking down complex math concepts into smaller, easily understandable steps. Using visuals, diagrams, and concrete examples helps make abstract math ideas relatable.
Math requires practice, so I ensure each lesson includes problems to solve. I encourage students to work through problems on their own, guiding them through errors so they learn from mistakes.
Math can be intimidating, so I create a safe space for questions, no matter how simple. We discuss the reasoning behind each step, helping students develop a deeper understanding.
Usual Structure of a Class
Introduction and Objective Setting (5–10 mins): Start with a clear objective and briefly recap relevant previous concepts.
Concept Explanation (15–20 mins): Introduce new material, using visual aids and relatable examples.
Guided Practice (10–15 mins): Work through problems together, showing different approaches.
Independent Practice and Q&A (15 mins): Let students tackle problems independently while providing guidance as needed. End with a quick Q&A and recap to solidify understanding.
Recap and Homework Assignment (5 mins): Summarize the day's learning and assign homework to reinforce the concepts.
These math classes are ideal for middle and high school students, as well as college-level beginners who may need a strong foundation or struggle with math concepts. The approach also works well for adults looking to brush up on basic to intermediate math skill.
