About Paul
I want to see you reach your potential and would be delighted to help you do so. I am a specialist GCSE and Primary Maths tutor with a wealth of experience teaching whole classes, small groups and one-to-ones, both to children and adults. I hold a first-class honours degree in Mathematics and find this helps me to explain difficult concepts in several different ways, quickly honing in on the student's individual preferred learning style, ensuring rapid progress. I have a rich and varied work history which makes me comfortable working with people from all backgrounds and cultures. I am always patient, punctual and polite. Maths is one of those subjects where one topic follows on from another and many students can feel lost and lose confidence as the subject almost "gets away from them". Sadly the school system isn't always set up to help these students. Misconceptions and gaps in subject knowledge only get amplified as the years roll on. I will take the time to revisit any areas that are causing this lack of confidence, clearing the way for the more advanced concepts to be understood. This one to one time is invaluable in bringing the student up to the level that they deserve.
