About James
RCSI Medicine Undergraduate, 7 Distinctions & 1 Higher Merit in the Junior Cert. 5 H1s and 2 H2s in the Leaving Cert (613 points overall). Over 15 academic awards achieved from primary to secondary school. I began tutoring friends in maths 3 years ago as I was consistently getting H1s in my 5th & 6th year exams because I had a deep understanding of the subject and the requirements of the Leaving Cert. Through this tutoring experience, I have not only helped my peers excel in their exams, but I have also sharpened my own skills in maths as well as how to help different students tackle maths in unique ways. This detrimental insight was invaluable to me as it has taught me how to effectively communicate ideas and principles to students. With my experience in mathematics, I have achieved the H1 in the 2023 LC by a wide margin (over 95%). Thus with my firsthand experience of the Leaving Cert and background in tutoring, I have a complete understanding of the Leaving Cert maths course which I intend to pass on to prospective high-achievers.

I strongly believe that maths is a skill and is largely different from your average textbook subject; you can't just memorize information and copy and paste it onto the exam! Thus, it is extremely important to develop your maths skills and regularly exercise said skills. I will identify students' strengths and weaknesses and cater lessons to each individual student. I will work through the entire course with you topic by topic whilst providing exam questions on each topic as attempting exam questions and understanding the style of questions that are asked is vital. Ensuring that you can both understand and apply the concepts on the LC course with exam papers, you will be confident in taking on the Leaving Cert and obtaining high marks regardless of how difficult the paper may be. Towards the final exams, I will prepare detailed revision material along with tips, strategies and timing guidelines. The duration of each lesson will vary from 60-90 mins depending on the amount of content that needs to be covered. I would recommend starting lessons at the beginning of 5th or 6th year as it allows for more time to consolidate your learning. Private online classes are 25€/Lesson with help and support available through email 24/7. Please contact for more details regarding in-person classes. Classes will be available in the evenings on weekdays and during the day and evening on weekends.

As any higher level maths student knows, higher level maths can be complicated especially on topics like , probability and statistics.
