About Laurel
Hi! I am Laurel, a fresh high school graduate offering one-on-one tutoring sessions for primary and lower secondary school students. I am passionate about teaching and imparting my knowledge, and I think tutoring is the perfect opportunity for me to showcase that. I haven’t had much opportunity to teach as much as I would’ve wanted to, but I do believe in my ability to convey information in a way that’s easy to understand.
I am currently enrolled in Taylor’s College, having received a scholarship in my Foundation in Natural and Built Environments (FNBE). I also have some academic achievements with regards to English and Maths, such as Best Award Winner for English in 2019, having my essay published in the school yearbook as well as Band 6.0 for both subjects in Cambridge Checkpoint 2016 and 2019.
Promoting a love of learning is very important to me, and it would be a privilege to watch as students progress not only academically, but attitude-wise under my care.

I believe that every child has the potential to rise to great heights, and therefore I employ a range of strategies that cater to the different needs of each student in order to help them achieve success. I believe confidence and consistency is key, and my goal is to bring out each student’s potential with lots of support, encouragement and practice.
My teaching methods include doing exercises, reviewing past year papers and evaluation tests. I intend to make each lesson fun and productive, ensuring that each student leaves with a clearer idea of the subject.
