About Evan
I am a university student. I have been teaching and tutoring refugees for 2 years in English, History, and mathematics. I have a background in advanced Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus. All of my students are ESL speakers coming from Sudan, DRC, Somalia, Iraq, and Uganda. While English is my first language, I also speak Spanish and am learning French and Arabic.

I teach my students by drawing comparisons between their cultures, backgrounds, and lives and the concepts they need to understand. How my classes are scheduled, how the classes are structured, and the examples I give while teaching are all formatted to my students' needs and knowledge. When teaching I focus on an interactive approach letting my students practice and learn simultaneously.
