About Sophie
My journey into mathematics began with fascination for logic, patterns, and structured thinking. I earned an M.Sc in Mathematics Education, where I studied advanced mathematical concepts alongside effective teaching methodologies. Over the past 12 years, I have worked with students across elementary school math, middle school math, geometry, algebra, and SAT math, helping them overcome anxiety and develop confidence. I teach with empathy, patience, and adaptability, adjusting explanations to each learner’s pace and style. I use visual aids, structured examples, and real-life applications to make abstract ideas accessible. Many students who once struggled gradually develop independence and confidence as they understand mathematical reasoning more deeply. Outside teaching, I continue refining instructional resources and staying informed about educational research. Teaching mathematics is deeply rewarding because it equips learners with analytical skills, confidence, and lifelong problem-solving abilities.

Mathematics becomes far less intimidating when students understand the reasoning behind each step instead of memorizing procedures. In my lessons, I support learners across elementary school math, middle school math, geometry, algebra, and SAT math by emphasizing logical structure, pattern recognition, and step-by-step problem-solving. I help students see how mathematical ideas connect and build upon one another naturally.
Lesson plans are customized carefully to each learner’s level and academic goals. Beginners focus on number sense, arithmetic accuracy, and confidence-building exercises. Intermediate learners strengthen algebraic thinking, geometry concepts, proportional reasoning, and multi-step problem-solving. Advanced learners focus on SAT math strategies, time management, and flexible reasoning approaches. Guided practice, discussion, and feedback are included in every session to ensure deep understanding.
Math lessons also develop critical thinking, persistence, and calm analytical habits. As learners gain confidence, they approach challenging problems with structured reasoning and self-assurance. My goal is to help students build a strong mathematical foundation that supports long-term academic success and everyday problem-solving.
