About Fatema
Hi there! My name is Fatema, and I'm a third-year Mathematics student at the University of Waterloo. Math has always been a passion of mine, and my goal is to help others discover and develop that same passion. I believe that with the right guidance and support, anyone can excel in math. My approach as a tutor centers around making complex ideas accessible through real-world examples, transforming abstract concepts into practical applications. This approach not only makes learning more engaging but also helps students see the relevance of what they're studying. I emphasize teaching effective problem-solving strategies, equipping students with the skills they need to tackle challenges independently rather than simply guiding them through homework assignments.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous material and strengthen any weak concepts before moving onto new content. We’ll work through problems together, focusing on understanding the underlying principles. I also encourage students to solve similar problems on their own, offering guidance as needed, to reinforce their learning and build confidence.
My lessons are tailored for high school students and first and second-year university/college students.
