I really enjoy teaching. The fact that I can see progress from each session to the next gives me a sense of accomplishment that I’ve really made a difference to someone’s life. Also, the relationship between the student and the teacher is important. A student looks up to a teacher not just for academic support but as a friend and someone who is easily approachable.
Prior to university, I was a Krav Maga instructor. I underwent training which gave me all the necessary skills to become a proficient teacher. For example, I have the ability to communicate what I am trying to explain clearly and coherently. I enjoyed watching my students improve over time and have loads of fun along the way.
I have also completed the Duke of Edinburgh, Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. I learned how to work as part of a team and it taught me that if you put your mind to something nothing will stop you achieving your goals. This mindset has helped me to achieve academically as well as physically which I believe is key to success.

Please note online lessons will run as follow:
1) A skype call will be initialised
2) I will share my screen which will enable the student to see what I am writing on OneNote which acts a dynamic whiteboard (I have a graphics tablet which enables me to write on the application)
3) The lesson notes will be shared electronically after each lesson
All the student will need is skype, paper and a pen!
Learning is derived from the key concept of practice. At the beginning of each lesson, I will do a mini-quiz to see where the student is at and see where we need to improve. For maths, in particular, the fundamentals are necessary in order for progress. I will use a mixture of exam questions and practice questions from a textbook to really engage with the student. I will show the student some examples from past exam questions and I will check their understanding of the particular subject of the session. From my A levels, I know the key to success because I achieved an A*. Further, I have already achieved a First-Class Honours in my 1st year at university which reflects my diligence and passion for the subject.
