About Brian
I have taught math for over 10 years; from the basic arithmetic operations to statistics. My students do well from my instruction style of a flipped classroom. This means we actually work our way through concepts instead of students being told how to do the math they are learning. Their are many skills to use in mathematics; thinking through problems is the most valuable skill to develop!

I use a student centered approach to learning by having students think their way through concepts. Instead of lecturing to students, students are guided through problems, allowing them to think of solution methods. Lessons are for anyone that wants to improve their mathematics knowledge. For an example: adding decimals. How can we add .45 to .68? Students can use the traditional "stack" method and add the decimals like whole numbers; inserting their decimal in the answer, or convert to fractions and add the numbers that way.
