About Janiah
I am a professional analyst at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory with a mathematics background. I constantly use math and computer science in my line of work. I also enjoy helping others understand concepts to help them build their confidence, especially in mathematics!

My teaching method is to first make students comfortable. While I try to get to know each student, I also share things about me so it doesn't feel like an interrogation. I like to make my teaching as interactive as possible so our sessions don't feel like boring lectures. I am also big on giving plenty of praise so the student knows that they are making progress. I want my students to feel like they leave each session more confident than when they came in.
