About Sophie
I am a 22-year-old, third year student at the University of Sheffield, and am working towards my master's degree in Mathematics! I have always been enthusiastic about maths and about teaching, often helping my friends and younger sibling in school. I spent 2 years in and after sixth form tutoring maths to a variety of secondary students and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
I have also been lucky enough this year to get the chance to work in a secondary school, assisting in GCSE maths classes, which has shown me a whole new side to teaching and communication with students.
I am eager to get back into tutoring, give students a better understanding of maths, and hopefully inspire real passion and interest in the subject!

Our lessons will be highly personalised to your strengths and confusions, and I am always flexible with teaching style so we can find out together what works best for you! The 1 hour lessons will include clear explanations, helpful practice questions, and plenty of space for queries and specific requests. I will often give you some questions to work on between lessons to help with your understanding.
For 2 years, I previously tutored a range of Y6-Y11 students in varying levels of maths, from early secondary years to GCSE exams. Now, as a mathematics student at the University of Sheffield, with experience in Y10 and 11 maths classes in school, I am looking to tutor any level and type of mathematics from Y7-Y13 level.
