Hello. My name is Sam. I am a maths tutor with qualified teaching status, who has specialism in A-level maths and further maths teaching
The job was very rewarding since I get do something I enjoy on a regular basis in mathematics. It is also rewarding especially if I am able to make a difference to a student's future and perhaps even inspire them to study maths further themselves.
I hold a 2.1 BSc in maths and statistics from the university of Warwick, and I have taught at 3 different schools over the space of two years and am currently teaching at Harris Westminster sixth form

I believe that with the correct style and sufficient amount of effort basically anybody can understand the subject which I have had (and still have) such a desire to learn, maths. When it comes to how I teach I think that the following are important to me...
(1) Encourage learning by doing. That is rather than bombarding students with information, go through a topic and ask the student a series of short questions to ensure that they understand all the details and that they feel involved rather than being passive. As well as an emphasis on going through example/past paper questions.
2) Repeat, repeat and more repeat. I make sure they I consistently go over prior learning at the start of every one of my lesson, in order to build confidence and fluency for my students
(3) I am confident in teaching all GCSE and A-level maths exam boards pure, stats and mechanics. I have a unique selling point in that I specialise in the statistics modules.

Perfect! Very calm tutor that explained the concepts to my daughter in a clear manner.

I highly recommend Sam because he makes learning statistics much easier. He explain things clearly and always helped me when I stuck. Sam is patient, encouraging, and really cares about helping students do their best in statistics.
Really helpful at explaining advanced statistics to me. Which I previously difficult. Now I feel like I enjoy this subject. So I highly recommend Sam!!
Really smart and great at helping me understand my work. The lessons were informative and resourceful, I always left learnt something new.
